Video has become one of the most powerful tools available to attract new and returning visitors to your website. People just like to watch. And if they like them, they'll spread the word for you.
The last five years have seen the cost of production and equipment plummet. The attitudes of viewers, especially on the web, have changed, too. Glitzy, highly-end production is no longer necessary. In most cases, it's not even cool! People will watch--and love--practically anything, as long as it's intriguing, compelling and/or genuinely informative.
Here are a few general tips:
make sure you have an idea worth watching
make it "authentic" (just say "no" to phony baloney sales pitches)
make it short (under 2 minutes, if you can, though longer is fine if your idea and content warrant it)
"KISS" (Keep It Simple, Stupid!)
